Verdo Energy Systems delivers Energy Plant in half the usual time
A special transport crossing through the city of Aalborg and over the Limfjordsbroen bridge provided a unique sight for the early risers in Aalborg on Monday morning. The reason behind this was an extraordinary delivery of an energy plant from Verdo Energy Systems in Herning to Aabybro District Heat
It's not every day that two transport, each approximately 20 meters long and 6.6 meters high, carrying over 50 tons of heavy main components for an energy plant, traverse the Limfjordsbroen at a speed of 10 km/h, but that's precisely what occurred on early Monday morning.
"It's quite unusual, but actually, it's the only possible route across Limfjorden. It's the only place with enough clearance, and it hasn't been possible to sail closer due to the short delivery deadline," says Casper Dybdahl Juul from Verdo Energy Systems, the project manager for the delivery.
The transport involves a 10MW biomass boiler destined for Aabybro District Heating. In Aabybro, hundreds of new district heating customers, including those in Biersted, are connected to the district heating network. Therefore, there was an urgency to connect another boiler to the existing district heating plant. The boiler is intended to ensure that customers can stay warm throughout the winter without using expensive fossil gas.
"Normally, it takes about six months to deliver a boiler like this, but to help with supply security, we've set the ambitious goal of doing it in half the time - and to achieve that, the boiler is assembled in larger units at the factory than we are used to," explains Casper Dybdahl Juul.
He is pleased with the teamwork that has made it possible to deliver the plant in half the time. In 14 days, the plant will be lifted into place in Aabybro, and according to the plan, the new boiler will already be in operation in December, providing heat to Aabybro and the surrounding area.
